Seamless Microcement Brisbane

The concrete aesthetic, engineered for tight tolerances. Seamless, trowel-applied finishes for premium architectural spaces.

Real Concrete Texture. Without the Weight.

You don’t always have the structural capacity or the height clearance to pour a full 100mm concrete slab. Microcement (or micro-topping) bridges the gap. It is a highly engineered, ultra-thin concrete overlay meticulously hand-troweled over existing substrates. It delivers the exact same raw, industrial aesthetic as a solid polished slab, but at a fraction of the thickness.

The Commoner Collective Standard

Four stages of structural prep and precision hand-application. Zero shortcuts. Here is how we guarantee a permanent, monolithic bond.

Seamless Architectural Floors

Bridging the gap between industrial strength and refined aesthetics. Microcement is perfect for transforming outdated substrates into seamless, premium concrete masterpieces without the weight or height clearance of a traditional pour.

Over Existing Tiles

Don’t tear up the floor. Provided your tiles are structurally sound, we can aggressively grind the glaze, apply specialised leveling compounds, and trowel our concrete overlay directly over the top so grout lines never telegraph through.

Retail & Hospitality

Fast-curing, high-traffic finishes for boutiques, cafes, and showrooms. We deliver a rugged but high-end concrete aesthetic designed to handle heavy foot traffic with minimal maintenance.

Vertical & Custom Applications

Microcement isn’t just for floors. Because it is a highly engineered, trowel-applied coating, we can wrap the exact same concrete aesthetic up walls, over benchtops, and across custom joinery to create a monolithic look.

Feature Walls

Transform standard plasterboard or brick into a striking, industrial-chic concrete feature wall for residential living spaces, custom garages, or commercial lobbies.

Benchtops & Joinery

Achieve the heavy, solid-concrete aesthetic on kitchen islands, outdoor BBQ areas, and custom shopfitting joinery without the immense structural weight of a poured concrete slab.

Choosing Commoner Collective

The reputation built in the trenches.

We wanted a seamless concrete floor in our renovation but didn't have the height clearance for a new slab. Al came in and applied a microcement overlay directly over our old tiles.

The hand-troweled finish is flawless. It looks and feels exactly like a solid polished slab.

Sarah M

Paddington

We needed a raw, industrial floor for the showroom but didn't have the time or height clearance to pour new concrete. Commoner Collective came highly recommended.

Al turned up early, hit the deadline and delivered our floor. He applied the requested microcement overlay in a matter of days and we made the handover deadline - thank you.

West End

I am incredibly particular about finishes and wanted a concrete island bench and matching splashback for our custom kitchen. Most trades put custom vertical work straight into the 'too hard' basket.

The microcement application Al delivered is an absolute work of art. Even with daily kitchen use, it hasn't stained. It is rare to find a genuine craftsman who cares this much about the micro-details.

FAQ

Common Questions About Microcement

01. Can you apply it over my existing tiles?

Yes, as long as the tiles are sound and not drummy. We grind the surface and use a specialised base coat so the grout lines never show through the final finish.

02. Will the concrete overlay crack?

Hairline micro-fissures are a natural characteristic of real concrete and add to the authentic aesthetic. However, structural cracking is prevented by our heavy-duty Tier-1 subfloor preparation and anti-fracture mesh.

03. Is it waterproof for bathrooms?

Yes. When applied over a compliant waterproof membrane and finished with our commercial-grade polyurethane sealers, the surface becomes non-porous, making it an excellent seamless option for wet areas.

04. How thick is the final floor?

The entire system, from primer to final topcoat, is typically only 2mm to 4mm thick. This means you rarely need to adjust doors, skirting boards, or cabinetry.
